Nancy Winslow moved to Halifax and Martin Counties in 1980. She has been involved in many community and civic projects and organizations including revitalization efforts, county transportation and land planning, art initiatives and youth activities. Nancy has served on the Friends of Sylvan Heights board of directors since the birdpark opened in 2007. Her focus has been to promote the educational projects and raise funds for special projects at Sylvan Heights Bird Park.
As a retired high school teacher, Nancy continues to teach small groups with special interests throughout the community.

When asked why she decided to work in real estate after retiring from public school education, Nancy has remained firm, "I love living here and I want other people to move here. It brings me so much joy to meet new people looking for a small town atmosphere like we have with friendly people, great resources and opportunities to grow personally and as part of something bigger."
